Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and is about sharing the books that you have added to your shelves in the past week. The books can be physical, digital, borrowed, won, sent for review, or anything else.

This week got a little out of control. It started when two of my pre-orders came in, which was fine, but then I got approved for A TON of Edelweiss ARCs all at once, so now my reading list has just gotten a little more frantic. All in a week’s work I suppose. I certainly can’t say I’m sorry… 🙂

Purchased

Amazon –

hour

Hour of the Bees by Lindsay Eagar – I’m excited to see if this one lives up to my expectations! Hopefully, I’ll get around to it soon!

lady midnight 1

Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare – AHHHHHHH!!!! IT’S HERE!!!!! I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT I AM FINALLY IN POSSESSION OF THIS AND I STILL HAVEN’T READ IT YET! I’m actually starting this one tonight. I know as soon as I start I won’t be able to put it down until I’m done, and I just haven’t had a good chunk of time for it this week. But this weekend it’s going down!

Kindle Books –

51NcMaqTCsL._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_

The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness – So, I LOVED Patrick Ness’ The Rest of Us Just Live Here, and I’ve been interested in reading more of his work ever since. This was on sale for only $1.99 this week, so I figured I might as well dip my toe in and see how it goes!

the winner

The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski – Another book I’ve had my eye on for a while, this one also went on sale for Kindle this week! I hear it’s fantastic!

Sent for Review

Edelweiss –

lost and found

The Lost & Found by Katrina Leno – This looks likes a very cute contemporary YA. It comes out July 5th, so I’ve got some time to read and review it before then.

down with the shine

Down with the Shine by Kate Karyus Quinn – This May release is intriguing to me on so many levels. I think it’s going to have heavy magical realism elements, which is one of my favorite genres to see being utilized in YA. Definitely looking forward to it.

winning

Winning by Lara Deloza – This seems like it’s going to be a very cutthroat and fun spring read. I’m intrigued by the premise.

mirror king

The Mirror King by Jodi Meadows – Confession: I need to read The Orphan Queen before I can read this one (I have it and I’ve been meaning to get to it!). I hear this series is great for fans of Kristin Cashore, whom I ardently adore, so I’m all in. This is released April 5th though, so I need to get on it.

a drop of night

A Drop of Night by Stefan Bachmann – I’ve seen very mixed reviews on Goodreads for this, but I was intrigued the second I read that it takes place in a forgotten French-Revolution-era underground palace in Paris. I love reading about and studying the French Revolution, so anything that is going to center heavily on it is on my radar. It has some bad reviews, but I’m going to give it a chance anyway and see where it takes me!

even if the sky falls

Even if the Sky Falls by Mia Garcia – I’ve actually already pre-ordered this one, set during a hurricane in New Orleans! It’s diverse, there’s a steamy romance, and the cover is stunning!

the way back to you

The Way Back to You by Michelle Andreani & Mindi Scott – This one sounds similar to The Things I Know By Heart, which I loved. It has a road-tripping and heart-wrenching plots that involve tracking down the people who received the organs of their late best friend. Color me intrigued.

unrivaled

Unrivaled by Alyson Noël – Not sure if I’ll love or hate this one, but I am certainly interested in it. We’ll see. It might be a bit too Gone Girl for my tastes, but who knows? Maybe I’ll love it.

girl against hte universe

Girl Against the Universe by Paula Stokes – Another one I’ve already pre-ordered. I feel like I’m going to fall head-over-heels in love with this one, since it’s got a heavy magical realism thing going on.

Hard copies –

tyrannt

A Tyranny of Petticoats edited by Jessica Spotswood – I was interested in this one the first time I read about it in a review, but I didn’t get truly jump-up-and-down excited until I realized that LESLYE WALTON wrote one of the stories in it!!! I freaking fangirl so hard over her and her beautiful debut The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavenderso I just had to request a copy of this from the wonderful ladies over at Candlewick Press!

What did y’all acquire this week?
